JOB SUMMARY:
Responsible for the safety and productivity of all production employees staffed on designated department and shift. The NDT Production Lead position is accountable for ensuring that production scheduled for completion is executed in a timely manner while adhering to all company policies and customer requirements. This position provides on the job training and technical guidance to employees staffed on designated department and shift.

TYPICAL GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES AND ESSENTIAL JOB CHARACTERISTICS:
1. Use professionalism and leadership skills to promote company goals and enforce company policy and procedural requirements.
2. Assist the department supervisor with coordinating and directing production workers in the performance of turbine engine component repairs and other work CRT performs.
3. Assist with leadership functions such as employee development; provide input for employee performance reviews, conduct On the Job (OJT) training as required, and conflict resolution.
4. Communicate effectively in person and through various means such as department meetings, email, and company computer systems to support company goals.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Supervise production personnel as assigned to ensure that all work is done according to the appropriate work instructions (routings, op sketches, process and work sheets) and within the guidelines of the CRT Repair Station Manual.
2. Ensure employee safety and identify problems to immediate supervisor for correction.
3. Alert supervisor of equipment and tooling issues.
4. Ensure personnel assigned are competent to perform task(s) assigned to them and provide the necessary guidance and training as required.
5. Perform repairs on jobs as needed to meet daily requirements of the customer.
6. Review work orders entering and leaving the department for defects in product and paperwork to ensure quality objectives are being met and that defects are not getting passed on or received from other departments.
7. Assist in the execution of the daily production schedules though machine and operator allocations and communicate challenges to supervisor.
8. Provide input to the supervisor for employee performance appraisals.
9. Maintain assigned shop areas and oversee equipment preventive maintenance, cleanliness, and overall department organization.
10. Assist with the implementation of process improvements that drive towards company goals.
11. Team with process supervisor for timely completion of all Root Case and Corrective Action investigations assigned.
12. Maintain positive work environment and the reduction of rework and wasteful activities.
13. Any other duties as assigned by supervisor.

MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES: 1. NDT Level II Certifications in a minimum of Liquid Penetrant and Mag Particle Inspection. 2. Minimum of 2 years’ experience as a Certified Level II. 3. Turbine engine component repairs and their repair processes. 4. Basic understand of shop practices and methods. 5. Understanding of ERP system and Microsoft Office products. 6. Detail-oriented, ability to multi-task and prioritize tasks with strict deadlines. 7. Using logic and reasoning to identify solutions to problems. 8. Demonstrate personal time management skills. 9. Strong communication and leadership skills – strong reading, writing, and speaking skills, including public speaking. The ability to give and receive constructive criticism. The ability to organize and oversee the process of technical information and maintain records. 10. Knowledge of and belief in CRT systems and procedures. 11. Must have an understanding of basic shop math and geometric tolerances as related to CRT drawings and standard manufacturing methods. COMPETENCIES/MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: 1. Read, write and understand English and be able to communicate with other employees. Self starter and work with minimum supervision. 2. Proven track record with managing day to day production expectations, ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, set priorities, identify and address problems, and meet deadlines. 3. Where FAA certification is required, must meet the requirements of FAR part 65 (at least 18 months experience in the processes overseen, industry certification when required, demonstrated knowledge of applicable FAA regulations, demonstrated knowledge of CRT Repair Station Manual and quality systems). 4. Move heavy parts (>100 pounds) using cranes, slings, carts, and other handling devices. Move less heavy parts (<50 pounds) with or without cranes, slings, carts and other handling devices. Follow parts handling requirements. 5. Stand and/or sit for extended hours and be able to perform work in difficult positions. Have the ability to climb in and out of machines, up and down stairs to check work. 6. Read, comprehend and write technical information and data. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: 1. 4 Years of experience as a Certified Level II inspector in 3 NDT processes. 2. Technical high school and/or trade school graduate plus three years aircraft repair or equivalent experience. 3. Knowledge of FAA/EASA regulations and/or other governing regulations. 4. Knowledge of OEM applicable technical data, engine manuals, overhaul manuals, and/or processes to maintain aircraft components. 5. Commitment to continuing education. Able and willing to continue technical and supervisory education through seminars or classes.
