We have one of the largest Global Service and Sales organizations among precision instrument companies. We are seeking a Laboratory Sales Specialist-Weighing in Houston, Texas.


SUMMARY
Under the direction of the Area Business Manager the Balance Sales Representative is responsible for the sale of all Laboratory Division Product through the company distribution network in an assigned zip code territory. He/she is required to focus on the Laboratory market and motivate all dealer personnel to sell METTLER TOLEDO products in these accounts; acting as a primary company representative while maintaining the highest level of integrity plus customer/dealer relations and service while achieving the desired goals established by management.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES and/or RESPONSIBILITIES
-Achieve the annual sales target.
-Promote the sale of METTLER TOLEDO Products by working with dealer reps and calling individually on accounts.
-Organize, plan and schedule utilization of selling time to provide optimum effective account and territory coverage.
-Conduct trade shows, cart shows, and seminars at customer sites.
-Assist other sales reps with trade shows and seminars at other accounts whenever possible.
-Train and develop the skills and attitudes of all dealer personnel involved in the selling of METTLER TOLEDO Products on applications, specifications, product justification, knowledge and policies so they can promote METTLER TOLEDO products on their own.
-Identify and develop present and future accounts within an assigned territory plus maintain a complete active customer database in Sales Logix.
-Maintain control of demo inventory, T/E budget, telephone, and demo consumable budgets.
-Promote other divisions by writing 1 lead minimum per week, detailing their products or service on every call, inviting them to local shows and meeting with local reps to discuss business opportunities.
-Maintain a METTLER TOLEDO master dealer list in Sales Logix and update address listings of dealer management and sales reps as changes occur.
-Maintain knowledge of and adhere to company organizational procedures and policies regarding customers, dealers and METTLER TOLEDO duties and responsibilities.
-Cooperate with home office, manager , other sales and service personnel to accomplish overall sales objectives by attending trade shows, meetings, doing special assignments and other duties or projects as requested by management.
-Keep informed about and report on all competitive products and distributors to management through the weekly activity reports and monthly pulse reports.
-Fully develop current product knowledge capabilities, applications, product justification, in order to be recognized as the expert in the field.
-Conduct all activities and keep personal qualities such as integrity, appearance and sociability in a manner contributory to maintenance of optimum corporate image.
-Keep company vehicle and demo equipment in fully operational, safe and clean at all times.
-Enthusiastically support national promotion programs and fulfill your obligations as specified. Also prepare and administer local promotions in the assigned territory.
-Complete and accurate weekly reports are to be received no later than five days after the last work day. Monthly reports are to be received no later than the fifth day of each new month, all other reports as requested. All paperwork will be sent to your manager.
-Process received leads via computer (Sales Logix) and maintain up-to-date records for each dealer. Discuss results with dealer reps and management.


EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
B.S. or B.A in Natural Sciences, plus 2 or more years of sales experience in scientific instruments or equipment preferred.
