CAA is currently interviewing for a Building Inspector/Plan Checker to work at one of our locations in the Reno/Carson City area, NV.
Certification Candidates must possess ICC Certification as a Building Inspector and ICC Certification as a Plans Examiner.
Knowledge
Candidate will be expected to assist customers at the front counter when needed. Excellent interpersonal skills are a must. Plan Review duties include but are not limited to the following: Examine commercial and private building plans and inspect construction sites to ensure compliance with building code regulations. Review building plans for completeness and accuracy. Examine individual plan components to ensure that all code mandated items are included. Note instances of noncompliance on plans and correction sheet. Inspect building sites to ensure construction follows plans. Submit reports detailing items of noncompliance to the builder for correction. Provide code information to individuals planning buildings.

Skills:
Education/Experience
The successful candidate will have an Associates degree in Building Inspection Technology or equivalent continuing education and training in subjects related to construction inspection and plan review plus three years of responsible building, construction, and/or plan review experience OR any combination of education and experience that provides the required knowledge and abilities.
