MISTRAS Group, Inc. is seeking an experienced CWI in Long Beach, CA. The position is 40hrs a week and Per Diem is not available.

Mandatory
•Experience as a pipe welder
•CWI (please provide CWI #)
•Ability to read X-Ray Film and identify if the X-Ray Technician made a mistake (density, missing a view, defect examination, etc.)
•Knowledgeable in UT, MT, PT, PMI (they will not be required to perform NDE, just review reports and troubleshoot as needed)
•Proficient in codes: AWS D1.1, B31.3, B31.1, PBVC
•At least 1 API (i.e. API 510, 570, etc.)
•Independent & Self Directed, ability to get along with welders / engineers / fabrication contractors
•Computer Skills (Excel)
•Read P&IDs and EWO Instructions
•Ability to navigate various codes (i.e. Engineering Standards and Ctrl + F)

If no prior experience, ok, but will need to get up to speed quickly on:
•Mechanical assemblies (Torque, Tension, proper gasketing techniques)

Preferred Requirements (listed in order of preference):
1.Coatings (we have a lot of failures on internal coatings due to poor surface preparation, need someone knowledgeable)
2.I&E (need someone who can learn quickly, to ensure the proper documentation is collected and steps are completed. For example: valve position fail close versus fail open, valve flow direction, loop check completed yes or no, etc.)
3.Civil (need someone who can learn quickly when someone is using an unapproved concrete mix design or forgot to take break samples)
4.Refractory
