Position Summary

The Level II Technician will operate with the company guidelines and expectations for safety and quality.

Calvert City KY location

The NDT Level II Technician will have the necessary skills and knowledge to set up and calibrate equipment; operate equipment to properly conduct inspections; and interpret and evaluate results with respect to applicable codes, standards, and procedures as approved by a Level III.

The Level II Technician will also be responsible for properly guiding and developing Trainee associates.

The Level II Technician will organize and report results of inspections.


POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

• Understand and adhere to all safety and quality requirements for both the customers operations and Acuren’s requirements
• Understand and adhere to all radiation safety requirements including the Acuren Golden Rules of Radiography
• Ensure all safety equipment is properly worn and used including radiation safety equipment.
• Ensure the safety of trainees and the general public is also maintained including added requirements for radiation safety
• Ensure all equipment is properly maintained and calibrated
• Ensure all documentation revisions are understood and maintained
• Setup and ensure calibration of all non-destructive testing equipment
• Conduct non-destructive examinations properly for MT, PT, UT, and VT
• Interpret results of inspections
• Accurately report the results of inspections in a timely fashion
• Ensure proper documentation is received from customers including time sheets, purchase orders, equipment, and other items as appropriate
• All other tasks as assigned by management or supervision

QUALIFICATIONS
Education/Knowledge
• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Some college preferred
Experience
• Certified Level II RT, MT, PT, UT, ET, VT preferred and/or required
• Computerized/digital radiography experience preferred
• Industrial Radiography Radiation Safety Personnel (IRRSP) or applicable agreement state card
• Technical background in NDT methods and procedures
• Demonstrated ability to effectively perform assigned NDT tasks and interpret results of inspections
• Knowledge of NDT equipment

Physical Demands and Work Conditions
• Standing, walking, sitting, lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, reaching, handling, fingering, feeling, talking, hearing, visual acuity, accommodation and color vision
• Moving, carrying, lifting, objects in excess of 50 lbs
• Climbing and working off of ladders, stairs, and scaffolding in excess of 100 ft
• Working extended hours and standing for extended periods of time
• Work in indoor and outdoor environments in conditions of extreme heat and cold
• Work in and near industrial hazards.
