Position Purpose:
The main function of the Radiation Safety Officer is to be responsible for ensuring full compliance of all applicable regulations and company policies regarding all radiation activities as well as providing operational support to the local field based projects regarding radiation inspection techniques. In addition, the working RSO will perform field inspections, including initial interpretations, and reporting as project workload requires.

Duties and Responsibilities:
* Local Radiation Safety Officer duties in conjunction with field work as a Level II Radiographer initially
* Film processing
* Prepare, set-up, and complete all necessary paperwork
* Responsible for operation of Radiography in accordance with applicable regulations and procedures.
* Responsible for site security
* Prevent unauthorized personnel from entering work area
* Evaluate and interpret results according to the code of construction or customers specifications.
* Train Assistants in safe operations
* Train and mentor Assistant to be a future Technician
* Responsible for producing code work
* Responsible for all paperwork to be turn in a timely manner
* Maintain and promote a positive attitude toward Assistant and Customers.
* Perform all other duties as assigned.

Education and Work Experience:
* High school diploma or equivalent.
* Previous work-related skill, knowledge, or experience is required.
* 40 hours Level I and 40 hours Level II Course and 1600 hours field experience.
* Must have MT and PT experience and certifications.
* Must have the ability to meet company certification standards.
* Must be able to travel out of town 50% or more of the time.
* Must have a valid driver's license.
* Must be able to work various shifts.
