The National Institute for Aviation Research (NIAR), located at Wichita State University in Wichita, KS, is a premier aviation research organization that has gained national and international recognition for its programs and laboratories. NIAR is engaged in basic and applied research, testing and certification. The city of Wichita, KS is a home of major aerospace industry, namely Spirit Aerosystems, Textron Aviation, Bombardier-Learjet, Airbus, and many aviation suppliers. NIAR is seeking a candidate for the position Research Engineer and Maintenance Reliability Instructor. Skills:
Required Experience, Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
(1) Two years experience in maintenance reliability with a Bachelor’s degree or five years experience in maintenance reliability with an Associate’s degree, (2) Level III certification in Vibration Analysis, (3) Demonstrated ability with electric motor operations, balancing, and alignment, (4) Demonstrated knowledge of bearing fault isolation, (5) Demonstrated knowledge of electric motor lubrication and oil analysis fundamentals.
Preferred Experience, Knowledge, Skills &Abilities
(1) Bachelor’s degree, (2) Three years experience in maintenance reliability, (3) Demonstrated experience with thermography and electrical fault troubleshooting, (4) Demonstrated experience performing air surveys with Air Bourne Ultrasound, (5) Demonstrated experience with motor circuit analysis.
