State College, PA - The Product Specialist is an energetic, resourceful, and organized person with an engineering or scientific background to support the Olympus Phased Array Probe product line. This includes coordinating continued application and product support for current products in coordination with support for next generation product offerings. EOE M/F/D/V


Job Duties:
* Develop a deep understanding of the operation, applications and technical design of the assigned Olympus instruments and accessories.

* Acquire a working understanding of additional Olympus equipment.

* Support new product development as directed by Product Manager by contributing to market segment and product requirement research activities.

* Solicit market feedback to guide product line technical development.

* Support new product validation in collaboration with Product Manager.

* Provide advanced technical support to domestic and global customers, sales representatives and application centers.

* Provide advanced instrument operation and application training to internal personnel and customers in a variety of environments, including webinars, classroom settings and on-site at customer facilities.

* Develop and sustain product line resource materials including training presentations, instrument web videos, marketing documents and web site content.

* Collaborate with multiple business departments, including global business centers, global sales representatives, business development managers, engineering, commercial operations, and marketing/communications to complete daily tasks.

* Support global sales force with technical equipment demonstrations, key account presentations and training activities.
Skills:
(ONLY QUALIFIED CANDIDATES WILL BE CONSIDERED)

* Bachelor's Degree required in Science or Engineering is preferred or equivalent experience is required.

* Minimum of 4 years of experience in an applications, technical support, technical sales or product development environment is required.

* Previous experience with NDT and/or XRF technology or other spectroscopic technique is strongly preferred.

* Previous experience with handheld instrumentation is a plus.

* Excellent written and verbal communication skills are necessary.

* Ability to thrive in an international business environment is essential.

* Ability to coordinate and motivate people who do not work for you is preferred.

* Ability to work as an individual or in a team setting is necessary.

* Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office tools, especially Word, Excel, PowerPoint is essential.

* Must be able to multi-task in a fast paced environment.

* Must be able to travel, up to 30%, domestically and internationally.
