The AutoCAD/PDS Operator assigns work, supervises, and provides daily technical direction to AutoCad Drafters and PDS Designers within the department.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES/ACTIVITIES:

• Assigns project work and schedules work pertaining to AutoCAD drafting and PDS design tasks related to the refining and chemical industry as applicable.
• Works closely with clients, potential clients, and internal project management to fully understand project requirements.
• Coordination with design professionals to identify and properly document project related activities.
• Ensures that all drafting work is performed in a manner which complies with accepted engineering practices and standards, as well as company standards.
• Prepares and issues all associated design/drafting packages in a timely, thorough and professional manner.
• Assumes primary responsibility to ensure that all project quality and deliverables schedules are met in a timely manner in order to meet client needs.
• Communicates and coordinates with internal and external departments to achieve resolution to project-related activities.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

• Experience with AutoCAD 2013 – 2018 (Autodesk)
• Must possess good interpersonal skills and the ability to work closely with design professionals at a project level. Must exhibit a professional demeanor, work well in a team environment, and be able to build effective working relationships with diverse personalities.
• Documented Training certification in AutoCAD and PDS.
• Position is within an office environment and as such, work is primarily sedentary in nature, no special demands are required.
• High School Diploma Required. Degree preferred.
• Minimum of 5 years of progressively responsible drafting and/or construction related
• CAD experience with emphasis on petrochemical piping and fixed equipment discipline AutoCAD, PDS (piping design, isometric drawing extraction, etc.), MicroStation, Smart
• Plant Review, and SPI experience required.

ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL FUNCTIONS:

• Frequent lifting up to 30 lbs.
