Summary:

Space Science Services is currently looking for qualified Level II UT Shearwave technicians to help support our operations in the Orlando/Space Coast area.
Candidates must have formal training and experience hours as well as previous certifications meeting SNT-TC-1A requirements. Previous NAS-410 certification also a plus.

Responsibilities:

Conduct Tests to ensure quality or detect defects using NDT methods of inspection
Conduct Tests with Ultrasonic Testing Equipment
Apply testing in accordance with applicable specifications or standards and evaluate results.
Interpret, evaluate and document results through formal reports
Complete reports and documentation as required.
Must be computer literate and be able to write good reports.
Participate in Space Science Services and Client safety programs
Travel to customer’s industrial or construction work sites
Must be able to work various shifts
Perform other job related tasks as assigned by management

Skills:
Minimum Requirements:
Candidate must have a minimum of 1 year experience performing Shearwave on Weldements.
Certified or Certifiable to Level II in UT-Shearwave
Other NDT certifications such as MT, PT are preferred but not required.
Must be willing and able to work a t heights, confined spaces, outdoors and in labs, manufacturing and industrial sites.
Must be willing and able to travel, work odd hours, work over time, work varying hours and a varying schedule.
Must have good communication skills and be computer literate.
Must be drug free and have a valid driver’s license with a good driving record.

Educational Requirements:

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Certified Level II UT Shearwave.
• Technical Background in NDT methods & procedures
• Demonstrated ability to effectively perform assigned NDT tasks and interpret results of inspections
• Knowledge of NDT equipment
