Primary duties will be a trainee for all Nondestructive inspection (NDI) methods. As a Nondestructive Examination Technician at Paragon NDT, you will be working side-by-side with professionals at a company known to be a trusted partner and leader in Nondestructive Examination. The trainee will be working directly under the supervision of a Level II technician. The trainee will become familiar with the scope and limitations of the all inspection methods and become familiar with industry standards and specifications.

We are seeking individuals in the Des Moines, IA area.

Responsibilities include: Perform set up for Ultrasonic, Eddy Current, Fluorescent Penetrant and Magnetic Particle inspections on specifically assigned projects. The individual will be a trainee for setting up tests, in accordance with approved procedures. Understands and utilizes safe work practices. Overtime may be required
Skills:
Required Skills:
•Candidate must be highly motivated and willing to learn
•Excellent written and oral communication
•Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 lbs
•Blue print reading skills
•Mechanical and technical aptitude

Desired Skills:
•Knowledge of Ethanol plants and their PSM areas
•Pass a Near Vision exam either corrected/uncorrected and a successful completion of a Color Discrimination Test
•Strong attention to detail, close observation and concentration skills
•Excellent decision making, planning and organizational skills
•Good manual dexterity, eye-hand coordination, mechanical aptitude
•Experience in NDT: Ultrasonic, Eddy Current, Fluorescent Penetrant and Magnetic Particle inspection methods
•Technical writing capability
•AAS in NDT or certificate of completion for NDT courses
