Acuren has an immediate opening for an NDT Level I/Rope Access Technician for a full-time position in Port Arthur, TX.

The SPRAT and/or IRATA certified NDT Technician is responsible for carrying out duties and responsibilities in a safe and timely manner as assigned by the Rope Access Technician Supervisor.
Responsibilities
Perform specific job functions as they relate to work orders
Have a comprehensive knowledge of advanced rescue techniques
Be able to demonstrate all the skills and knowledge required of level I


Assist other technicians as required
Ensure operational safety of all equipment
Set up and calibrate nondestructive testing equipment
Conduct tests to ensure quality or detect discontinuities (defects) using NDT methods of inspection
Establish techniques for proper examination of objects under inspection, ensuring strict adherence to safety regulations
Apply testing criteria in accordance with applicable specifications or standards and evaluate results
Interpret radiographs, cathode ray tube (CRT) or digital readouts, conductivity meters and visual indicators
Organize and report test results
Perform specialized inspections
May instruct and supervise others
Perform other job-related tasks as assigned by management
Experience working in direct support of petrochemical facility engineers.
Must possess a valid Driver License or ID.
Must possess an updated TWIC card

EDUCATION AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS:
Must possess a High School Diploma or GED.
Must possess an authentic SPRAT and/or IRATA Level 1, 2, or 3 certificate, ID, & logbook.
Physical Demands and Work Conditions
Climbing. Frequent Ascending or descending ladders, stairs, scaffolding, ramps, poles and the like, using feet and legs and/or hands and arms up in excess of heights of 100 feet.
Balancing. Maintaining body equilibrium to prevent falling and walking, standing or crouching on narrow, slippery, or erratically moving surfaces.


Ability for frequent mobility in close quarters, crawl spaces, shafts, small enclosed rooms, line pipes, and other areas that could cause claustrophobia.
Able to function in narrow aisles or passageways.
Able to work long workdays of up to 16 consecutive hours in one day.
