The Lead Instructor (hereafter �gInstructor�h) is responsible for planning, organizing, and delivering rope access training courses primarily located at the Houston Facility. However, instruction assignments and support tied to other training centers within the Company is to be expected. As an estimate, the Instructor should anticipate travel away from home 20% of the time. Aside from rope access courses, other work-at-height subjects and general training needs may also fall inside the scope of this role. In addition to general administrative tasks to support each course, the Instructor will focus specifically on student safety, quality of instruction, mentoring assistant instructors, industry reputation, and achievement of planned learning outcomes. This position also works in close collaboration with other Ropeworks Instructors, Training Coordinator, Project Managers, support department leaders, and rope access technicians.

Strong attention must be placed on safety, professionalism, service, and effectiveness of instruction. As expected of all personnel, the Instructor is to operate in a direct, patient and respectful manner at all times. The Instructor is also expected to serve as a positive and constructive role model to all Company personnel and training clients.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES/ACTIVITIES:
�œ Serves as a lead or support instructor for: Rope Access, Wind Turbine Rescue, and Tower Rescue courses.
�œ Assures compliance with SPRAT and/or IRATA training standards, relevant regulations, and industry best practices. Learns and remains current on such specifications.
�œ Participates in and contributes to instructor workshops and serves as a mentor to assistant instructors.
�œ General administrative functions are required including customer service, record keeping, email, and phone calls. The Instructor must work closely with the Ropeworks Training Coordinator.
�œ Ensures training facility is maintained and compliant with industry requirements and standards.
�œ Training equipment management; including regular cleaning and periodic inspections.
�œ Follows Company policies, procedures and work instructions at all times.
�œ Knows, understands and exemplifies the Company�fs guiding principles on a consistent basis.
�œ Other duties as needed.



MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
�œ A minimum Level III Rope Access certification is strongly preferred, however consideration may be given to candidates with IRATA II certification who also have prior experience delivering rope access training, as well as great aptitude and enthusiasm.
�œ Experience and aptitude in delivering education and skill training courses, preferably SPRAT or IRATA rope access training courses.
�œ Demonstrates enthusiasm for teaching rope access or other work-at-height courses and shares a commitment to continuous improvement.
�œ Maintains certification as a Rope Access Technician (SPRAT and/or IRATA), without lapse, alongside other key required certifications as outlined by the Company.
�œ Familiarity with computers, common software, email and communication platforms.
�œ Excellent written and verbal communication. Must be able to read, write, and speak clearly in the English language. Secondary language skills are an asset.
�œ Ability to locate, understand and apply technical standards and specifications, industrial safety regulations, rope access standards of practice, and Company (or customer) policies, procedures, and work instructions.
�œ Must have strong customer service skills.
�œ Possesses a valid driver�fs license within the state of primary residence, without restrictions, and a valid passport or the ability to obtain one within 90 days.
�œ Eligible for hire (or retention) based on all Company policies related to employment.
�œ High school diploma or GED is required; advanced education is preferred.

ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL FUNCTIONS:
�œ Frequent lifting up to 30lbs, occasional lifting up to 60lbs without assistance.
�œ Prolonged periods of standing, walking, and looking overhead are required to monitor students. Some tasks can be stressful to fingers, hands, wrists, elbows, shoulders, knees, neck and spine.
�œ Ongoing physical ability to carry out all on-rope training and work-at-height demonstrations without assistance. In general, this means able to meet the physical functions of a LIII Team Leader.
�œ Ability to use common office equipment and sit for extended periods at a computer workstation.
�œ If requested by the Company, the Instructor may be required to undergo one or more post-offer, pre-placement fitness for duty evaluations. Current team members may be required by regulation or Company policy to pass periodic medical evaluation(s).
�œ Must possess adequate vision, hearing, and speaking ability.
