Applied Technical Services Inc. Summary: Applied Technical Services is currently looking for qualified Level II UTS technicians to help support our operations in Newport New, VA. Must have required classroom/OJT documentation to certify or previous Level II UTS certification to be considered.

Newport News, VA - Shipyard - Level II UTS


Site: Newport News, VA Shipbuilding (NNS) - Must be a United States Citizen
Certifications: Level II UTS required classroom/OJT hors or previous certification to be considered Preferably with MIL STD 2035 and 271 experience.
Duration: Long-term
Start: ASAP
Work Schedule: 58 hours a week
Per Diem: Yes as per GSA guidelines

Responsibilities:

- Conduct Tests with UTS - preferably with MIL STD 2035 and 271 experience
- Apply testing in accordance with applicable specifications or standards and evaluate results.
- Interpret, evaluate and document results through formal reports
- Complete reports and documentation as required.
- Must be computer literate and be able to write good reports.
- Participate in ATS and Client safety programs
- Travel to customers industrial or construction work sites
- Must be able to work various shifts
- Perform other job related tasks as assigned by management

Minimum Requirements:

- Certified or Certifiable to UTS- Shearwave
- Must be willing and able to work at heights, confined spaces, outdoors and in labs, manufacturing and industrial sites.
- Must be willing and able to travel, work odd hours, work overtime, work varying hours and a varying schedule.
- Must have good communication skills and be computer literate.
- Must be drug free and have a valid drivers license with a good driving record.

Education and Experience:

- High School Diploma or equivalent
- UTS documentation
- Technical Background in NDT methods & procedures
- Demonstrated ability to effectively perform assigned NDT tasks and interpret results of inspections
- Knowledge of NDT equipment
