Maintains overall responsibility for the Electromagnetic Testing NDE method within the Nuclear Fleet. Is the subject matter expert for Eddy Current, Near Field, Remote Field and Pulsed Eddy Current examination techniques. Performs vendor oversight including the approval of vendor personnel certifications, examination specific technique sheets and procedure review and approval. Performs on-line NDE and assists Engineering program owners in planning for on-line and outage NDE. Interface with site NDE Supervisor and Level IIIs for prioritizing and performing NDE fieldwork. Interface with engineering and other implementing organizations requiring NDE to determine the scope of NDE required. Support planning department by providing technical details for the planning and assembly of the necessary work packages to perform the required NDE. Support NDE scheduling by providing input to site Work Control organization.

JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
Ensure program compliance with NRC commitments and applicable ASME codes and standards.

Support Site NDE Supervisor and NDE Level III as necessary in the disposition of Condition Report Corrective Actions, NRC inquiries and corporate program audits.

Provide technical oversight of NDE contractors.

Support vendor as required resolving any questions or concerns performing an examination.

Support Work Planners (On-line and Outage) by providing technical details for the planning and assembly of NDE packages.

Status on-line and outage NDE activities in Plant Scheduling Programs.

Resolve questions regarding support requirements (scaffold, insulation, cleaning, preps, etc).

Coordinates with RP and Outage Management to support NDE / inspection activities; Schedules inspections and examinations; tracks exam completion for code compliance and provides NDE / ISI status summaries for outage and online work.

Provides input for preparation of technical reports (OAR-1); coordinates and prepares NDE reports.

Transmit official examination records to document control in accordance with corporate procedures.

Maintains annual proficiencies in accordance with corporate procedures; and as applicable.


MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Minimum education required of the position
High School graduate diploma or equivalent (GED).

Minimum experience required of the position
NDE certification held in Electromagnetic Testing for greater than 5 years.

Minimum knowledge, skills and abilities required for the position
Knowledge of ASME code as it relates to non-destructive examination. Knowledgeable of heat exchanger design, operation and failure mechanisms. Thorough knowledge of processes and activities necessary to conduct a successful inspection campaign. Success demonstrated at the data analyst level. Ability to obtain NDT Level III certification in the Electromagnetic Testing Method. Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
