Summary: ATS is currently seeking individuals with a high level of motivation, very strong work ethic, flexible schedule, detail oriented and an interest in a highly technical field. Applicants are encouraged to apply and be part of ATS’s Aviation NDT Division. Contract will cover lodging and include $60 per diem a day for the first week, $0.65 per mile for travel from home are to contract facility, $180 a day per diem after the first week and technician is then responsible for their own lodging and meals. 40+ hours per week.

Job Description: The Aerospace Ultrasonic Level III Inspector position will include the following duties.

• In service and/or production inspections utilizing as a minimum the UT method along with having any of the following methods would prove to be beneficial. Visual (VT), Magnetic Particle (MT), Fluorescent Liquid Penetrant (PT), Eddy Current (ET), Radiography (RT) under NAS-410 requirements
• The UT Level III would work directly with the customer’s engineering team and provide inspection oversight for UT Level IIs along with helping to solve technical issues and suggest inspection improvements for the team in a collaborative setting
• Detailed pre and post inspection documentation using both handwritten and computer methods
• Use of complex automated UT test equipment requiring a high level of attention to detail and inspection focus
• Full time onsite location work in Mojave, CA (this is not a remote position)
• Meeting directly with customers and representing the ATS brand
• Working in both indoor and outdoor environmental conditions as required (primarily indoor)
• Inspection of primarily laminate composites and some metal structures , sub-components, newly developed aerospace designs, reference standard validations
• Inspections performed in both team and individual settings
• Mentoring Level II technicians as required


Requirements & Preferences: Candidates must have the following credentials to apply and willing to perform the below duties.

• Certifiable to NAS-410 UT Level III in a minimum of 10 years NDT experience
• Verifiable UT composites background with laminate inspection as a minimum
• A minimum of 18 months prior aircraft experience (may be in a mechanical or quality capacity gained either in instructional or hands-on settings)
• Graduated with High School Diploma, GED or equivalent
• Have strong retention and comprehension regarding the use of complex inspection systems
• Willing to travel on short notice both internationally and domestically
• Able to travel on short notice and have flexible schedule
• High level of comprehension
• Work well with others in a team environment or independently
• Be self-motivated
• Have excellent communication skills
• Have basic computer skills (Word, Excel, Windows, Power Point)
• Have good credit history
• Able assist Level II and Level III inspectors and customer engineering with inspections and program related duties
• Aid Level III and customer engineering in writing procedures
• Utilize strong organizational skills
• Speak and write in the English language
• Must be able to pass FAA drug and alcohol tests
• Must be able to pass ATS pre-employment drug and alcohol screening
• Have clean driver’s license
• Willing to work overtime as required
• Exercise prompt and consistent work attendance
• Able and willing to wear safety equipment such as masks, gloves, respirators, hearing protection, eye protection and other personal protection equipment
• Able to pass NDT ATS exams
• Willing to access confirmed spaces for aircraft inspection access
Preferences:
• Certificated from Aeronautical or related Technical School
• FAA A&P license holder
• Prior NDT or Special Processes experience
• Prior experience with blueprint interpretation
• Bi-Lingual
• US Passport
• ASNT Level III in multiple methods, preferably RT, ET, and VT (UT Required)
Responsibilities:
• Perform NDT and/or Special Process related inspections
• Assist Level II and Level III inspectors as required
• Mentor co-inspectors as required to gain knowledge in unfamiliar inspection techniques
• Completion of all required inspection documentation in a timely matter
• Perform various duties as assigned by the Level III and/or NDT Management and Engineering
• Independently perform equipment setup and operation
• Perform system performance checks as required
• Protect intellectual and physical company property
• Prioritize under demanding conditions
• Communicate at high level with other team members and NDT Management
• Ensure proper tooling is in place prior to inspections
• Protection of issued communication and documentation equipment
• Arrange for shipment of required tooling to jobsite and monitor tracking information
Work Conditions:
• Indoor and outdoor conditions in all seasons (mainly indoor)
• Travel to customer facilities
• Ability to lift and carry 30 lbs.

• 40 plus hours at Mojave, CA location
