REQUIRED CERTS: NDT Trainee - Must have classroom training in MT & VT.
PAY RATE: (No benefits) $18.00/hour straight time and $27.00/hour for overtime. Overtime is defined as time over 40 hours per week (Saturday – Friday). Once certification is obtained in the VT & MT methods as well as passing the NNS evaluation, your hourly rate will be increased to $25.00/hour straight time and $37.50/hour over time. After 6 months as a certified VT & MT Level II your pay will be increased to $28.00/hour straight time and $42.00
SITE/WORK SCOPE: Newport News Shipbuilding (NNS) SCOPE: VT and dry MT inspections on new construction Virginia Class Submarine parts. Light grinding may be required by techs to prove nonrelevance of indications. Those with NDT classroom training strongly preferred.
AN EXTENSIVE BACKGROUND CHECK IS REQUIRED TO GAIN SITE ACCESS! (Background check can take anywhere from 4-6 weeks. Must be a United States Citizen)
Relocation: - Relocation to the Chesapeake, VA area will be required for this position. ATS will reimburse moving expenses (receipts required) up to $1000.00. A local hotel and $45 per day per diem will be provided for up to two (2) weeks to assist with relocation.
