The Nondestructive Testing (NDT) program at Clover Park Technical College is the only program of its kind in Washington State. The NDT Tenure Track Instructor will have the opportunity to work in a new, state-of-the-art facility, preparing the next generation for careers in this high-demand, dynamic industry -- that is in great need of Certified NDT Technicians! In this role, you will align curriculum as required, organize and operate a program designed to prepare students for entry-level careers in Nondestructive Testing, successfully achieving the college mission of Educating Tomorrow's Workforce. Base Salary: $71,461
Temporary Stipend: $26,599*
Base Salary + Temporary Stipend: $98,060
*Exclusively contingent upon State funding appropriated to the College by HB2158. Stipends are not eligible for cost of living adjustments (COLA).

This position's duties are performed in person on our Lakewood campus.

This position has been designated as a bargaining unit position represented by Clover Park Federation of Teachers Local 3913.

Duties and Tasks (Essential Functions)

Provide quality instruction and assessment of student learning outcomes.

-Provide individual and group student-centered instruction.
-Prepare and modify instructional materials and methods
based on student needs and feedback.
-Develop creative, flexible, and innovative ways to effectively serve the needs of a diverse student population.
-Evaluate and document student comprehension through testing, observation, and assessment of skills attained.
-Follow approved curriculum. Assess and modify the current curriculum as needed, following the college policy and procedure for curricular review and modification.
Provide support and guidance to students responding to their needs and providing career guidance.

Administrative functions and college support.
-Attend student recruitment and information session activities.
-Document and keep accurate student records.
-Follow college policies and procedures to obtain and maintain required equipment, systems, tools, supplies, and materials.
-Record and submit student grades in a timely manner.
-Serve on department and college committees and participate in college enrollment activities.
-Conduct program-specific student advising and equipment acquisition and maintenance training.

Skills:
Minimum Qualifications

-CPR/First Aid and Blood Borne Pathogens training card or obtain within 60 days of employment.

AND must have one or more of the following:
-Current American Society for Nondestructive Testing (ASNT) Level III certificate in one or more of the following methods: Radiographic Testing (RT), Ultrasonic Testing (UT), Eddy Current Testing (ET), Magnetic Particle Testing (MT), Liquid Penetrant Testing (LT) and Visual & Optical Testing (VT) (per ANSI/ASNT CP 189, Paragraph 4.4.1.1); OR

-Bachelor's degree in Material Science or have academic credentials at least equivalent to a Bachelor of Science in engineering, physical science, or technology and process adequate knowledge in the NDT method to be taught (per ANSI/ASNT CP 189, Paragraph 4.4.1.2); OR

-An Associate's degree in science, engineering, NDT or a related field and a minimum of five (5) years of experience as an NDT Level II, or equivalent, in one or more NDT methods: Radiographic Testing (RT), Ultrasonic Testing (UT), Eddy Current Testing (ET), Magnetic Particle Testing (MT), Liquid Penetrant Testing (LT) and Visual & Optical Testing (VT) (RT, UT, ET, MT, PT, and VT) (ANSI/ASNT CP 189, Paragraph 4.4.1.3); OR

-High School Diploma or GED and a minimum of ten (10) years of NDT experience as an NDT Level 2, or equivalent, in the NDT method to be taught (per ANSI/ASNT CP 189, Paragraph 4.4.1.4). OR

-Performed Duties as a NAS 410 Level II or Level III in the NDT method to be taught ((per ANSI/ASNT CP 189, Paragraph 4.4.1.4)


Preferred Qualifications
-Experience training and/or teaching in NDT or a related field.
-Experience working with composite material, including manufacturing, repair, and/or assembly.
-Certified Weld Inspector (CWI) and experience with NDT of welds
