NIC IS HIRING an EXPERIENCED LEVEL III MT/PT/VT TECHNICIAN, preferably with NAVSEA or Maritime Experience.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS INCLUDE BUT NOT LIMITED TO THE FOLLOWING:
- Administers and maintains NST qualification program for Level I, II and III NDT personnel.
- Maintain qualification records, certifications and proficiency examinations and oversight of required experience hours.
- Performs non-destructive inspections on all components as required by NAVSEA specifications, blueprints and work procedure requirements to include NDT inspections for piping and structural fit-up and final weld inspections. (This to include but not limited to 5X visual, liquid penetrant, and magnetic particle inspections as needed).
- Observe sub-contractor NDT inspections and reviews sub-contractor welding and NDT procedures for compliance
- Oversee the work of NDT inspectors and ensures QA/QC and safety procedures are met.
- Work with the Quality Manager to ensure that NDT inspections are scheduled and assigned appropriately.
- Records, organizes and evaluates test results and generates NDT and QA inspection reports.
- Maintains equipment and assures calibration for tests to be performed.

Skills:
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

- Must meet or exceed the requirements of NIC's written practice for non-destructive testing with supporting documentation.
2. Must qualify to the technical performance of NIC's internal procedures in order to perform NDT inspections.
3. High School Diploma or Equivalent and two years related technical experience.
4. ASNT Certification preferred but not required.
5. Knowledge of shipboard structures and systems required.
- Minimum of one year NDT experience in ship repair industry.
- Proficient in blueprint reading/interpretation, and QA systems
- Strong organizational skills.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook is a must.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to interact well with and mentor others
