1. Develops and maintains appropriate Quality Assurance procedures and standards in written manuals and assures adherence to those standards.
2. Oversees to insure that all customer product specification and blueprint requirements are met by: assigning welding procedures to be used; assuring all materials used are correct; assuring all fabrication welds and weld procedures are proper; assuring that all finished products meet all applicable codes; fabrication procedures and products are tested and inspected as required; and NSI standards for quality are met.
3. Insures that welding/fabrication and equipment operation skills, techniques are taught to employees as required and that welders are certified as required.
4. Insures that all incoming materials received meet customer and code requirements and that all code required documentation for finished products is on file, and customer documentation requirements are met.
5. Supervises the work of the Q.C. Inspectors and the documentation process by the M&I group for materials received.
Skills:
Welding Engineer or Associate degree
• Assures that the duties of the Authorized Inspector (A.I.) are performed and that the requirements of the A.I. are met.
• Teaches classes in blueprint reading and fabrication methods.
• Provides information, reports to management concerning quality assurance concerns.
• High school diploma and minimum of 10 years of fabrication, welding experience in pressure vessels, particularly with stainless, hastalloy, inconel, aluminum, titanium, and similar alloys. OR,
• Associates Degree and minimum of 3 - 6 years of fabrication, welding experience in pressure vessels, particularly with stainless, hastalloy, inconel, aluminum, titanium, and similar alloys.
• Knowledgeable and experienced in all facets of quality assurance, including statistical process control, and measurement and testing (RT, PT and NI) techniques. Knowledgeable of all aspects of welding.
• Must have thorough knowledge of ASME and other applicable codes and Q.A. standards.
• Previous experience as a Quality Control Inspector would be useful.
