Applied Technical Services, LLC. Are you a Level II RT Technician who’s interested in getting off the road. ATS is seeking a full-time Assistant RSO at our Marietta, GA facility. Please review the below details and apply if interested.

• RSO training available
• Monday – Friday
• 40 hours per week
• Limited travel required
• $35+ per hour
• Must be local to Marietta, GA or willing to relocate

Responsibilities/Duties: Assistant Radiation Safety Officer

• Interface with department managers and clients to determine scope of work and work priorities in order to meet customer expectations.
• Review state and federal laws with regards to compliance, safety, and efficiency of the Radiation Safety Program.
• Perform and/or review investigations of overexposures, accidents, losses, thefts, unauthorized receipts, misuses, or other deviations from approved radiation safety practice and implement corrective actions when necessary.
• Respond to radiation safety emergencies, and prepare and submit reports to the appropriate governing bodies.
• Perform radiation safety audits and recommend improvements.
• Consolidate and computerize various program aspects. Improve and advance the overall culture of the Radiation Safety Program.
• Be able to prepare written instructions and to organize and report the results.
• Work independently and support team members. Perform other job related tasks as needed and assigned by supervisors.
• CFR part 20.
• Regularly review procedures to ensure conformance to current CFRs, NRC regulations and license conditions.
• Develop and conduct Radiation Safety training for radiographic personnel.
• Ensure that operations are conducted safely and institute corrective actions when necessary.
• Review associated paper work, supervision of Radiographers and Assistant Radiographers, conducting radiation safety meetings, annual and quarterly audits of all field locations, conducting semi-annual field inspections of radiation safety personnel. Ensure that radiation safety activities are conducted in accordance with approved procedures and regulatory requirements.

Minimum Requirements/Qualifications:

• State or IRRSP card
• 1+ years of RSO experience preferred but not required
• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Some travel required.

• Effectively communicate with other departments, and customers to report issues and solve problems.
• Applicants must pass a drug screen and have a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
• Applicants must pass a criminal history review or have a valid Transportation Workers Card (TWIC) to obtain T&R Status.

Work Conditions:

• Must be able to wear safety equipment as required by the safety department for personal protection.
• Work from heights on scaffolding, ladders, elevated platforms, man-baskets, etc.
• Work in confined spaces which will require crawling, stooping, climbing, etc.
• Work in around operating equipment and industrial environments.
• Work with radiation and hazardous materials such as cleaners, penetrants, film developing chemicals, etc.
• Ability to lift and carry 100 pounds.
