Quality Tech with ASNT Level I or II Certification in MT and UT

Legacy Building Solutions is an established and growing fabric building manufacturer located near St Cloud, MN. We are seeking an experienced Quality Technician with a ASNT Level I or II certification in MT and UT and experience with quality auditing ISO 9001/CSA A660. The Legacy Building Solutions team of employees are committed to continuous improvement, safety, quality and efficiency.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
The Quality Tech reports directly to the Quality Supervisor. The Quality Tech must be able to work independently and is responsible for conducting quality inspections during manufacturing processes to ensure that products comply with quality standards and assures consistent quality of production by enforcing good manufacturing practices.

JOB REQUIREMENTS
Perform visual inspections, quality assurance checks and confirms shipment accuracy in all manufacturing divisions throughout the company
Inspect beams, weld joint preparation and dimensional tolerances to specific codes, and quality standards
Troubleshoot problems with equipment, devices or products
Safety requirement: Ensure all welding and paint related activities are conducted in accordance with all local municipal, state and federal regulation in addition to complying with all company defined safety rules and regulations adhering to and supporting the company’s quality certifications
Assists Quality Supervisor to record, maintain, and analyze NCR’s. Investigate NCR root cause to identify the primary cause
Verify and maintain measuring equipment and perform calibrations while maintaining calibration schedules in all the production facilities
Ensures quality using traveler reports, shop drawings corrections, paint/primer testing, mill thickness testing, weld testing, calipers, tape measures, steel ruler and squares
Identify areas for quality control improvements
Requires continual learning and implementation of quality and industry best practices
Must be able to obtain CWB Welding Supervisor Certification
Maintain a clean and organized work area
Accomplish or update tasks assigned in a timely manner
Assist Quality Supervisor and other QA/QC personnel as needed
Perform other duties as assigned
Skills:
ESSENTIAL JOB REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS
High school diploma or GED required
4 Years minimum of welding/supervisor related experience required
Must be able to obtain CWB Welding Supervisor Certification within 1st year
ASNT Level I or II Certification in MT, and UT required. Must be able to achieve level II within the first year of employment
Solid understanding of job specific quality testing equipment
Certified Weld Inspector (CWI) certification preferred (not required)
Minimum of 1 year of inspection or production experience
Quality Assurance/Quality Control with quality auditing (ISO 9001/CSA A660): 1 year (Required) or equivalent education and experience will be considered
Experience with paint inspections preferred (not required)
Basic math and strong computer skills; Microsoft Office programs Word, Excel, and Outlook
Strong attention to detail

Self-disciplined, highly motivated – team player with a strong work ethic
