Managing Director
Total responsibility for the management and future development of an NDT subsidiary of the world's largest nuclear company, including its future commercial viability. Adoption of overall responsibility for commercial and operational activities, R&D and quality assurance. Responsibility for all personnel matters as well as HSE (radiation security, work safety, environmental pollution control, etc.).
· manage all commercial elements of the business (turnover, profit/loss, cash flow, ‘bid’ decisions, price setting, strategic business decisions, etc. )
· direct all sales activities (client contact, customer needs, CRM, etc.) Participate in all negotiations of the Business Group regarding order placement. Contribute personally in presentations to external clients through meetings, exhibitions and conferences.
· manage personnel: communication of Business Group targets; define individual targets; conduct annual staff reviews; set staff development programmes.
· being responsible for R&D budgets and investment, set the business strategy and technical development targets.

- 10 years working within the materials testing industry with operational experience of NDT, specifically with metals, within a high-risk environment where QA is primordial
- commercial orientation within business operation
- proven ability with P&L responsibility and financial control
- experience of managing a large and sophisticated team
- aware of the power of IT applications in industry
- knowledge of the nuclear industry would be an advantage but not mandatory.
Personal
* at home in a sales/marketing environment with good presentation skills
* target driven but with compassion for the mentality of an R&D environment
* technically and intellectually competent
* displaying initiative and responsible for his/her actions
* enthusiastic, energetic and self-confident
* team player, leader and motivator
* while respecting methodology and process, able to remain flexible and innovative
* bilingual (written and spoken) English/German
* if not German, at ease in a foreign environment and culture
* willing to relocate to Germany.
