Shell Chemical Yabucoa is currently seeking a Pressure Equipment Integrity Inspector for the Yabucoa plant, which employs approximately 200 people and is located on the southeast coast of Puerto Rico. Shell has re-configured the facility into a Chemicals feedstock plant, exporting feedstock to Shell Chemicals’ facilities at the US Gulf Coast. This facility also produces gasoline, diesel, jet fuel, and residual fuels which are mainly sold on the island.

In this position, your primary focus will be to monitor the pressure retaining equipment in the assigned area(s), analyze data and make recommendations (when necessary) to assure that the equipment is in mechanically safe condition for continued operation, and to maintain thorough and accurate documentation. You will be called upon to assure pressure equipment compliance with all corporate standards, and legal and industry codes.

Skills:
To be considered for this position, you must possess a minimum of an Associate’s degree in a technical engineering field (Bachelor’s degree a plus) along with approximately 5 years of experience as a pressure equipment inspector in the petrochemical industry. You must have a proven record of leadership, strong teambuilding skills, proficiency in Microsoft Office software, excellent interpersonal and communication skills, strong bilingual (English/Spanish) skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks with a variety of competing priorities. You must have a sound understanding of industry standards including API 510/570/653; certification is preferred. Good documentation, record keeping and organizational skills are imperative. You must be able to climb heights, use respiratory equipment and enter confined spaces, as well as pass vision and color blindness tests. In addition, you must be able to work and excel in a project task team work environment.
