NIC has several opportunities for NDE Level II UT Contact/Immersion Technicians for long term opportunities in the East Hartford, CT area.
Our client offers advanced Immersion Ultrasonic Testing specifically for pipeline girth welds in the Oil & Gas Industry.
In this role, you will perform Immersion Ultrasonic testing using automated IUT equipment in a fast-paced NDE lab, in accordance with industry and customer specifications.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Conduct IUT test using ultrasonic equipment to ensure the quality or detect defects in test pieces
2. Set up, utilize and calibrate IUT test equipment
3. Interpret codes and specifications
4. Clearly and legibly report test results
5. Use approved techniques for proper examination of objects under inspection
6. Must be capable of analyzing C-scan data and A-scan Presentations.
REQUIREMENTS:
1. HS Diploma/GED or equivalent is required
2. Minimum 80 hours of UT Training
3. Documented experience hours (OJT)
4. Must have at least 2 years of NDE experience in the Oil and Gas or Aerospace Industries
5. Must have the ability to work without supervision
6. Must have the ability to also work in a team environment and have the ability to collaborate with personnel in order to complete projects on time.
7. Must be capable of analyzing C-scan data and A-scan presentations.
