Job Title: Nondestructive Testing (NDT) Technician - RT
Location: Hampton, VA
Employment Type: Full-time, Permanent
Work Schedule: This position is primarily a 1st shift role; however, candidates must be flexible to work evenings, and overtime as required to support specific projects.
Overview:
Advex is seeking a qualified Nondestructive Testing Technician to perform NDT/NDE on naval vessel components and other critical systems. This role offers the opportunity to work in a mission-critical defense manufacturing environment while contributing to national security initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform NDT/NDE methods in support of Advex manufacturing as well as outside customers such as NASA and local manufacturing facilities.
Conduct inspections in compliance with Military Standards, NAVSEA, ASME, AWS, and other related codes/standards.
Perform occasional off-shift work.
Safely handle, lift, carry, and transport heavy equipment and boxes; ability to bend, climb, stretch, squat, and stand for extended periods.
Additional Employment Guidelines:
Must be 18 years of age or older at time of application.
Must be able to provide proof of US Person status.
No felony convictions for theft, deception, or violent crimes within seven (7) years of disposition.
No felony convictions of drug crimes within three (3) years of disposition.

Skills:
Required Qualifications:
High School Diploma, GED, or Industrial School Certificate.
Minimum of 2 years’ experience in NDT.
At a minimum, needs to be Level II qualified in PT, MT, and RT (experienced RT Level I may be considered)
Ability to pass Theory, Specific, and Practical Level II exams for each method within the first four weeks of employment.
Valid Driver’s License.
Ability to obtain a Rapidgate badge and Secret Security Clearance.
Must pass pre-employment drug screen and background check.
Meet physical requirements listed above.
Preferred Qualifications:
IRRSP, Gamma experience, VT and UT qualifications.
NAVSEA experience with weld inspections (Tech. Pub. 271).
