Acuren is currently recruiting for experienced QHSE Coordinator to support our operations in Santa Ana, CA.
We are currently seeking local candidates based in Santa Ana, CA or surrounding area. While we welcome applications from all qualified individuals, local candidates are preferred due to the nature of the role.
The position provides regional support of such services as occupational health and safety, quality and environmental programs by working closely with employees at all levels to further the understanding and adoption of Acuren’s Safety Management System (SMS), and/or Quality Management System (QMS), provincial legislation and regional priorities. The position supports the development of a culture that embraces quality and/or safety, takes action to provide reliable service, and minimizes risk to the organization by promoting the use of world-class programs with clear and measurable objectives.
Responsibilities
KEY TASKS & GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Supporting the delivery of effective regional safety and/or quality programs by:
Assisting with the implementation of control and monitoring measures related to safety and/or quality performance;
Performing regular field safety and quality audits;
Providing leadership in the investigation of all quality and safety incidents and providing direction for the disposition of corrective actions;
Participating in the design and implementation of special programs to correct adverse safety or quality performance trends;
Providing safety and/or quality oversight and coaching during shutdowns and other site based work programs;
Assisting the departmental Manager towards completion of prioritized quality, health, and safety action items;
Participating in the delivery of regional safety or quality training initiatives.
2. Reinforcing compliance with, and understanding of, safety and/or quality programs by:
Educating staff regarding Acuren Safety and/or Quality Management System requirements and goals across the region;
Effectively coaching others to increase their safety and/or quality knowledge and compliance;
Conducting audits as per pre-determined schedule to provide confirmation of adherence to Acuren’s QMS/SMS;
Participating as directed in internal and external system audits (client, registrar, accreditation body and suppliers);
Identifying critical safety and/or quality awareness aspects for each work area and delivering training to employees;
Understanding and communicating relevant Canadian and provincial regulations, relevant standards and emerging case law and ensuring continued awareness and application in prevention programs
3. Assisting in the preparation and maintenance of accurate quality and safety data by:
Maintaining updated records via reporting systems for safety and quality training, near-miss reports, and other related policies and procedures;
Ensuring the Manager has information required to produce reliable quality and/or safety metrics on a monthly basis;
Review, revise and solicit input to the Safety and/or Quality Management System as required.

Skills:
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:
The position requires understanding and knowledge of in the following areas:
Familiarity with, and ability to interpret, standards/regulations/legislation/case law;
Understanding of ISO Compliance Programs, and Safety and/or Quality Management Systems, policies and procedures;
Experience in applying corrective action and root cause analysis methodologies.
The position requires the following abilities:
Safe and/or quality expertise that can be effectively transferred to others in the organization;
Confidence in providing coaching and influencing the behavior of employees across the region;
Ability to work collaboratively with other to accomplish objectives;
Well-developed analytical and problem-solving skills;
A commitment to enforce understanding and compliance with responsibilities under the provincial Occupational Health and Safety Acts Regulations, and Acuren Safety and Quality Management Systems, policies and procedures.
EDUCATION:
The position requires post-secondary education and certification, or progress towards certification, in occupational health and safety and/or quality management plus a minimum of 2 years of experience in an industrial construction environment.

Working Conditions
Work performed primarily in an office environment with frequent computer use
Occasional travel to company locations or training events as required
Minimal exposure to industrial or field environments during special projects or meetings
Frequent use of office equipment, including computers, printers, scanners, and telephones
May require extended periods of repetitive keyboard work
Work involves handling confidential safety and compliance records, requiring strict adherence to data security and company policy
Adherence to company safety procedures when visiting operational areas, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) as needed
PHYSICAL JOB REQUIREMENTS & DEMANDS:
Ability to sit for extended periods while working on a computer, managing databases, and preparing reports
Ability to stand and walk intermittently for filing, document retrieval, and office coordination tasks
Ability to lift and carry up to 20 lbs occasionally, including files, binders, and office supplies
Adequate vision (with or without correction) to read spreadsheets, documents, and digital displays
Adequate hearing (with or without aids) to participate in meetings and conference calls
Sufficient hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity for computer work, filing, and handling office equipment
Ability to travel occasionally to support training sessions, meetings, or safety program initiatives
