PRINCIPAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Assist NDE Technicians with the setup and operation of nondestructive testing equipment (UT, MT, AUT, FlexoFORM, HydroFORM).
2. Prepare work areas, tools, and materials for inspection activities.
3. Handle, organize, and label inspection materials and components accurately.
4. Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of job sites, tools, and equipment.
5. Support the documentation process by gathering information and ensuring completeness of reports.
6. Follow safety procedures and ensure compliance with company and client safety policies at all times.
7. Perform general labor duties, including moving and positioning equipment or materials as needed.
8. Learn and adhere to industry standards, codes, and NDE methodologies under the guidance of certified technicians.
9. Assist in the calibration and verification of NDE instruments when required.
Skills:
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES
• Preference given to applicants with verified NDE classroom instruction and OJT hours.
• High school diploma or equivalent (GED) required.
• Basic mechanical aptitude and ability to use hand tools.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions.
• Ability to work in industrial environments (refineries, pipelines, power plants, etc.).
• Ability to work in confined spaces, at heights, and in various weather conditions.
• Must pass required background checks and drug/alcohol testing.
• Valid driver’s license and a reliable 4x4 vehicle.
WORKING CONDITIONS
Internal - Work is normally performed in a climate-controlled office environment (10%).
External - Work is normally performed in a field environment with exposure to various weather conditions (90%).
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Work is physically demanding and involves frequent standing, walking, and bending. It requires strong visual acuity and auditory perception, with or without corrective devices. Candidates must possess basic mathematical skills and be proficient in computer software. The position may require extended work hours, including weekends, to meet project deadlines and reporting requirements. Additionally, frequent travel to industrial and oilfield locations, often in remote areas, is necessary.
