What do we do at Industrial Imaging & Modeling Technologies Lab
The Industrial Imaging and Modeling Lab (IIML) conducts advanced research in Imaging, Image Processing, Image archival, Geometry Modeling, and Physics Modeling with the goal of providing technology solutions for Industrial Inspection and Manufacturing. IIML is working on key programs enabling new GE products and Services. These programs include:
· Developing & Standardizing the Imaging Platform for reviewing Inspection Data
· Integrating Geometry & Image Data for Enhanced Visualization & Decision Support
· Developing New Inspection Probe Designs through Physics Based Modeling
· Digitizing the manufacturing Process through a unique combination of Real Time Inspection & Image Processing.
The Lab uses specialized software like MAGNET and ANSYS for Modeling, IDL for Image Processing, Unigraphics for Geometry, LabView for Data Acquisition and Processing. The team works on specialized NDE hardware in their ultrasound, eddy current, optics, and radiography labs.

Skills:
NDE Engineer (Job # 326678) – We invite applications from Candidates with Master/PhD Degrees and 1-4 years of Industry experience in Non-Destructive Evaluation, Image/Signal Processing. Candidate should have Research experience in Imaging, Image Processing, Geometry Modeling & Physics Modeling for Inspection & Manufacturing. Experience and exposure in finite element modeling of electromagnetic/ultrasonic sensors and Image Processing applied to electromagnetic/ultrasonic sensors is desirable.
