JOB TITLE: NDT TECHNICIAN (ADL0102095; ADL0102096) Hands–on engineering position requiring practical experience in various nondestructive testing methods. The successful candidate must be able to understand moderate to complex NDT problems using automated and standard ultrasonic techniques. Must be able to work with engineering staff to help develop written procedures, and successfully implement these procedures., This job is a full time position. Travel to customer sites and other destinations related to this program are required as part of this assignment. Travel may be 50% or higher depending upon job assignments.
Skills:
Education: Two-year engineering degree or 5 years experience in NDT. Required Skills: Individual must posses strong organizational, interpersonal, and communications skills. Excellent writing skills are required to help develop new procedures for testing and development of new classroom presentation for training purposes. A minimum of 5 years experience in developing new inspection procedures based on new inspection techniques using ultrasound is required. An ASNT Level II or NAS-410 Level II in ultrasound is required. The successful candidate must have strong computer skills and be proficient in the use of Windows (2000 or XP) operating system and Microsoft based applications programs (i.e. Excel, Word, etc)., Must be willing and able to travel, both domestic and international if needed. Desired Skills: Classroom training experience as well as NAS 410/ASNT level II or higher in other NDT disciplines (Eddy Current, X-ray, Visual, Mag Particle and Dye penetrant) would be a plus. Experience with computerized automated UT C-scan hardware and data acquisition and analysis software. A background in aircraft structures made of non-ferrous and composite materials as well as familiarity with Mil-standards related to NDT.
