NDI ENGINEER
A hands–on engineering position requiring practical experience in various nondestructive testing methods. The successful candidate must have the capability and experience to solve complex NDT problems using automated and standard ultrasonic and/or eddy current techniques. Additionally the candidate must have experience developing written procedures employing these techniques. Must be familiar with the requirements imposed upon inspection personal and provide effective training on the use of newly developed procedures. Must understand a variety of standards as they are applied to NDT. Experience with advanced digital x-ray and other inspection techniques would be a plus., This is a full time position, and may possibly require travel.
Skills:
Education: Bachelors Degree in engineering discipline and at least 7 years of relevant experience, or 15 years overall experience in NDT. Required Skills: Individual must posses strong organizational, interpersonal, and communications skills. Excellent writing skills are required to help develop new procedures for testing and development of new classroom presentation for training purposes. A minimum of 5 years experience in developing new inspection procedures based on new inspection techniques using ultrasound and/or eddy current is required. A strong background in aircraft structures made of non-ferrous and composite materials as well as familiarity with Mil-standards related to NDT is strongly preferred. Experience with computerized automated C-scan hardware and data acquisition and analysis software is required. Software skills include competence with the Windows operating system environment, Microsoft Excel and Word. The successful candidate will also be closely involved with management of various programs. Desired Skills: An ASNT or NAS-410 Level II in ultrasonic inspection is required. Classroom training experience as well as ASNT/NAS 410 level II or higher in other NDT disciplines (Eddy Current, X-ray, Visual, Mag Particle and Dye penetrant) would be a plus.
