The NDT technician is part of a team that provides Ultrasonic inspection to the steel fabrications assembly group. The team performs in-stream process audits to validate cast and fabricated structures per weld engineering and manufacturing specification and enters results in database. Magnetic particle (wet/dry) and liquid penetrate inspection occasionally required. The technician would be based from the local Metallurgical Testing Laboratory.

Individuals must possess ANST -Level II certification and 1-2 years experience with ultrasonic inspection of welded structures. Experience should include but not be limited to porosity, fusion, depth, and crack characterization. Individuals will have experience interpreting engineering drawings and following written audit guidelines. Good communication and teamwork skills, and the ability to support a high velocity-manufacturing department are critical. Individual must have basic computer skills including MSWord, Excel, and ability to learn shop SPC system. Technician must also possess a high school degree; associates preferred. Exposure to metallurgy or materials science concepts and ISO 9001/17025 preferred. Experience with Krautkramer USN 52-series ultrasonic units and past experience maintaining units or repairing and making transducer cables desireable.
