Perform ultrasonic (Level II Certification) and eddy current testing. Analyze X-ray film of a wide variety of complex structural members, safety of flight items, both critical and non-critical, to detect internal defects. Set-up, standardize and operate multi-channel, multi-axis (up to 10 axis’), computerized, ultrasonic, data-acquisition systems for inspection of monolithic metallic parts, and composite assemblies (both metallic and non-metallic). Evaluate data and characterize all anomalies utilizing alternate non-destructive testing (NDT) methods and record all non-conformances, including preparation of sketches and layouts. Assist NDT Engineering in establishing techniques and providing on-the-job training for newly assigned employees. Effectively operate all equipment for which certifications are held. Check equipment for proper functioning and report malfunctions. The successful candidate will typically have an Associates degree in NDT or equivalent formal training and a minimum of one year of experience as a “B” Inspector (Level I).
