Nine Reasons to Automate Material Analysis with Vanta
Posted:
We recently launched the Vanta iX in-line X-ray fluorescence (XRF) analyzer for automating material analysis and alloy identification (ID) on the manufacturing line.

Like all Vanta electronics, the Vanta iX analyzer works fast while delivering reliable, actionable results to guide critical decisions. The system is IP54 rated and vibration tested for greater uptime in production facilities.

Here are nine reasons to consider the analyzer for your in-line XRF automation needs:

Integrated in-line XRF measurement system on the manufacturing line.

Our in-line analyzer delivers instant XRF analysis results for real-time process monitoring and 100% alloy verification.

24/7 operation.

Metal fabrication requires 24/7 process control to verify that products are being manufactured using the correct alloy to avoid costly material mix-ups. We built the Vanta iX analyzer to handle 24/7 operation so you can keep your inspection process up to speed.

Configure results to your needs.

Just like with our handheld XRF analyzers, you can adapt the in-line system to suit your quality inspection needs. The analyzer can be configured to deliver pass/fail results, accurate grade ID, and material chemistry.

Flexible connectivity options.
The in-line analyzer comes with various industrial connectors to flexibly integrate with your existing technology:

Ethernet (RJ-45), enabling Power over Ethernet
USB
Discrete I/O (16 pins)
X-ray warning LED
AUX DC power

Modern data transfer and control.
The analyzer is easy to control with either the Vanta Connect API or a PLC and discrete wire. It also offers configurable data export.

Easy installation.
All system components are integrated into the analyzer, so there is no separate control box to install. The compact analyzer also includes mounting holes that make it easy to attach to existing robotics and other systems.

Rugged for greater uptime in manufacturing environments.
Built to endure the high levels of vibration, electromagnetic and acoustical noise, dust, and moisture of production facilities, the analyzer offers increased reliability and uptime.

The system is IP54 rated and designed to operate from –10 °C to 50 °C (14 °F to 122 °F) with continuous testing. The analyzer is also shock and vibration tested using military standard (MIL-STD-810G) methods.

Easy repairs.
Our engineers thoughtfully designed the analyzer to provide easy repairs if needed. The system offers toolless window changes, an easily replaceable wear plate, and swap-out probe heads.

Vanta electronics.
Finally, the Vanta iX analyzer comes with the features the Vanta handheld XRF series is known for, including:

High throughput
Stability
Count rate
