Nanotronics, developer of the world’s most advanced robotic industrial microscope that combines AI, automation, and sophisticated imaging for industrial inspection, today announced the appointment of Jodi Shelton to the company’s Advisory Board. Jodi is the co-founder and Chief Executive Officer of the Global Semiconductor Alliance, a not-for-profit trade organization at the center of the semiconductor ecosystem that has helped prepare the industry for the paradigm shifts defining it.

As a key advisor to Nanotronics CEO and Executive Team, Shelton will help navigate the semiconductor ecosystem including industry partners, venture capitalists, bankers, analysts, fund managers, and industry leaders.

"The addition of Jodi to our board of advisors catapults opportunity to engage, collaborate, and support some of the largest semiconductor organizations in the world," said Matthew Putman, co-founder and CEO of Nanotronics. "She is a tech luminary and a role model within the industry, not only for leading initiatives to increase the number of women in leadership roles in STEM, but also for bringing together the entire semiconductor ecosystem to promote and bring innovation to the fab floor."

Shelton joins Nanotronics on the heels of a major expansion as the company nears completion of New York’s first high-tech manufacturing hub, located in the Brooklyn Navy Yard.

"It is more important now than ever for the industry to produce with the highest of quality in order to limit waste and increase yields," says Jodi Shelton, co-founder and CEO of the Global Semiconductor Alliance. "As Nanotronics ushers in a new era of intelligent manufacturing, I’m eager to act as a liaison so that we can work more efficiently to meet immediate and future demand."

Jodi Shelton is a highly respected business leader and business model visionary who established the preeminent Global Semiconductor Alliance (GSA) in 1994 and continues to serve as its CEO. She also founded Shelton Group, an Investor Relations/Public Relations agency dedicated to raising the valuation and voice of technology companies.

Her deft leadership and business acumen helped navigate Shelton Group and GSA through the dotcom bubble burst in 2000-2002, as well as the financial crisis and recession in 2008-2009. Since then, both organizations have become powerful forces in technology, and more specifically, semiconductors, its supply chain, software, and services.

In 2018, as part of GSA’s diversity and inclusion efforts, Shelton created the semiconductor industry's first Women's Leadership Initiative and Council to significantly increase the number of women in leadership roles in the industry, the capital dedicated to women-led start-ups, and the number of STEM-focused female candidates joining the industry.

Jodi has received local and national recognition from the Dallas Business Journal ranking Shelton Group as a top agency, the Small Business Commerce Association with a "Best of Business" award, and Enterprising Women Magazine as "Enterprising Woman of the Year".

Prior to 1994, Shelton served as the Director of Investor Relations at Cyrix Corporation where her contribution helped translate into a highly successful IPO. She then led the investor relations’ efforts broadening the company’s exposure with financial analysts and creating the communications protocol for the company as a public entity. She also helped identify and secure leading business stories on the company including the Wall Street Journal and BusinessWeek.

Shelton earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Political Science from San Diego State University and her Master’s Degree in Political Science from University of Houston. She received Corporate Governance program certification from Columbia Business School.
