In this episode, Emilie welcomes Dr. Tim Stevenson. Emilie and Tim discuss different applications where high-temperature sensors can be used, the misconceptions about high-temperature inspection in the field, and the future of high temperature for NDT.

Tim Stevenson

Tim is the development director and cofounder of Ionix. Previously a senior research fellow at the University of Leeds after completing his PhD, Tim specialized in high-temperature piezoelectric metrology and the design of high-temperature sensors. He was awarded Gold and the title of Early Research Career Engineer at Westminster for impact on research, and is now responsible for the development of next-generation on-stream ultrasonics for inspection, process control, and monitoring.

Tim is a fellow of the Institute of Materials (UK) and a member of the BINDT condition monitoring technical committee.

She holds an Associate’s degree in Applied Science in Nondestructive Examination Technology and is trained in accordance with SNT-TC-1A for Level II on UT, ET, RT, MT, PT, and VT. Emilie joined Olympus in 2013 and has held positions ranging from technical support to product management, focusing on ultrasonic, phased array, and other advanced inspection technologies. She currently runs the Global Advanced Product Support team, working on business and product development, supporting a variety of applications and industries.
