Fiberscope.net just announced another upgrade to the STRAHL HD Downhole Well Camera system, aimed at making inspections easier and more efficient in the field.

The main change? A larger 13" HD screen on the control unit. It replaces the old 8" monitor and gives you a much clearer view while inspecting downhole. It’s a small change with a big impact—especially when you're trying to catch fine details underground.

They’ve also built the keyboard into the control box, so there’s no need to carry around a separate wireless one anymore. That means less gear to fumble with and quicker note-taking on-site. The control unit is still splashproof, so it’s ready for wet or dirty work environments.

You still get all the core features:

High-resolution photo and video recording

Built-in mic for voice notes

USB storage

On-screen depth counter

The camera itself hasn’t changed—and that’s a good thing. It’s a 45mm dual-view head with front and side cameras, full 360° pan, and bright LED lights for low-visibility conditions. It’s IP68 rated, runs to 200 meters deep, and comes on a tough 8mm cable with your choice of manual or powered reel.

This system is a solid choice for anyone doing well inspections, groundwater surveys, or geotechnical work—especially if you want something portable, field-ready, and easy to operate.
