Duties: Provides technical supervision and performs aircraft and ground support equipment nondestructive inspection (NDI) using thermography, shearography, stationary and portable magnetic particle, ultrasonic, eddy current, radiographic and penetrant testing methods. Determines test methods, prepares parts for inspection and interprets and evaluates test indications. Provides training to subordinates and maintains equipment by evaluating effectiveness of equipment and accessories using process control standards. Initiates and completes all documentation utilizing the remote computer system to report maintenance data for analysis of aircraft and aerospace ground equipment. Operates spectrometric oil analysis equipment to determine wear metal contents and contamination.
