SUMMARY:
Over four years experience as a qualified Radiation Safety Officer (RSO), currently providing program management oversight to Commander Navy Installations Command (CNIC) N3 Operations Safety and Occupational Health, as subject matter expert to CNIC, I authored the Radiation Safety Program Instruction, which details the organizational structure, processes and procedures for the safe handling of devices that contain or produce ionizing radiation, thus ensuring compliance as prescribed by the Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC), Department of Defense (DOD) and pertinent Naval Directives. Additionally, I have over six years experience as a qualified U.S. Navy, level II Non-Destructive Inspection (NDI) Technician, having performed over 5000 inspections in five disciplines of NDI combined with seven years of military program management experience and over ten years military aviation experience.

• Interface with Commander Navy Installations Command (CNIC) organizational elements (i.e. Regional Commands, Host Commands, and Tenant Commands) that operate x-ray screening devices or radioactive source bearing detection equipment
• Advises CNIC N3 Operations Safety and Occupational Health Radiation Safety Officer on issues of radiation safety, unsafe work practices, noncompliance, and corrective actions to the noncompliance
• Ensures CNIC radiation safety policies and guidelines are established and maintained in accordance with the Navy Radioactive Materials Permit (NRMP), NRC/State-issued licenses and all pertinent Naval Directives
• Investigate incidences of potential radiation exposure
• Maintain a current and accurate inventory, annually, of all machines source radiation producing equipment and radioactive source bearing equipment utilized in security operations of all installations under cognizance of CNIC
