RT, UT Level II / Radiation Safety Officer / UT, RT & Radiation Safety Instructor:
I have taken the initiative to read and interpret work instructions and procedures related to all NDT methods that are utilized at USP to insure adherence to Customer and API Specifications. I played a key role into locating vendors for obtaining necessary equipment for the NDT Department. Not only did I locate local venders for NDT equipment, but I also introduced equipment that would help to streamline NDT processes. I was responsible for securing the ability to implement In-house training of NDT personnel with the approval of USP’s contracted Level III. I am a delegated Instructor for UT Level I & UT Level II as well as RT Level I & Level II classes. As the Radiation Safety Officer I am responsible for adherence, implementation, and continual improvement of the Radiation Protection Program that assures USP’s Radiation Department meets and exceeds California State requirements. I am the Instructor in charge of the Radiographer Assistant 8 hour Safety course and pride myself with an 87% pass rate. I took a lead role in re-development of Training Requirement Forms to meet ASNT’s SNT-TC-1A guidelines for Qualification and Certification of NDT personnel.

May 2009 –July 2010: PSL North America
Radiation Safety Officer/PT, VT, RT, UT Instructor: Performed Manual UT Shearwave on Spiral Welded pipe following ASTM E213 standard, and API 5L. Performed RT following API 5L and API 1104. As RSO I completely re-wrote the Emergency and Operating Safety procedure for RT to meet and exceed State requirements. I also performed safety audits, equipment inventory, TLD badge collections and maintaining of all daily, quarterly, and Bi-yearly records as per State requirements. RSO duties included being a liaison for the company and the Mississippi Dept. of Radiological Health. As the RSO I was responsible for all 15 Radiographic Personnel. Those responsibilities included but were not limited to, staffing, scheduling, continual training I was a member of a team of Internal Auditors who’s over view included NDT Personnel in UT, RT, VT and PT methods to assure that all aspects of Work Instructions and Procedures were being adhered to. Made revisions to Work Instructions and Procedures that helped to not only streamline all quality testing, but improved overall communication between the Quality and Production Departments. Kept record of and maintained all NDT personnel files including but not limited to OJT, classroom hours for method training, Internal Certification Records, Vision testing, Audit Reports and Radiation Safety Training. Helped to maintain Calibration database of all Measuring and Monitoring devises. Prepared PQR’s for Double Jointer section. I was also a team member who led in establishment Work Instruction’s for Double Joint adhering to API 1104 specifications. Before any pipe was shipped I assisted in collecting and proof reading all data to assure that the product was in compliance with customer specifications. Prepared and Instructed PT (Level I & II), RT (Level I & II), UT (Level I & II), Radiation Safety, and Visual Level II classes per course outline of SNT-TC-1A, while maintaining as pass/fail percentage above 90%. Lead a team of Engineers and Maintenance Personnel in the designing, planning and implementation of Radiographic Testing facility so PSL as a company could become more self sufficient relying less on outside contractors. Helped to redesign NDT equipment. While redesigning NDT equipment I also made contacts that not only helped to reverse engineer specialty NDT products but cut cost of these items by a significant amount. Helped in the implementation of a Min/Max system all NDT expendable parts.


June 2008 – May 2009: Evraz Oregon Steel Mills
Radiographer Assistant: Trained in 40 hour Radiation Safety. Ultrasonic Inspection (Compressional & Sherarwave). Assisted Level 2 Radiographer with Spiral Pipe End shots. Trained in film interpretation, Radiation Safety, and RTR, following API 1104 and API 5L. Over 1900 hours of training. UT Level 2 with over 1700 hours.

Nov 2007 – June 2008: Decisive Testing
NDT Inspector Level 2: Performing PT, VT, UT, and MT inspections on numerous parts ranging from Aircraft, Mechanical, & Building materials. Followed many different standards from Mil Standards and Customer Specs. Hours accumulated exceed requirement for NAS 410 for level 2 in PT, MT, VT



Jan 2005 – Jun 2007: StrucSteel
Ironworker: Lead a 2 to 4 man team in the Erection and Rigging of Structural Steel. Created schedules and timelines for projects. Established picking orders for Rigging and Erection of field projects. Projects include: Toyota Tower (Chula Vista, CA), Retrofitting of NTC Point Loma (Point Loma, CA), Second floor expansion of San Diego’s High Tech High (Point Loma, CA), and Retrofitting of Stingaree Night Club (San Diego, CA) and many Residential Projects.
