Experience
Eddy Current: Conductivity testing, amplification and suppresion, data acquisition, impedance plane diagrams, phase analysis, first and second layer corrosion, tube/pipe inspection, coating thickness, bolt hole inspection, with both analog meters adn digital scopes (multi-frequencies).
Radiography: Experience with X-Ray and Gamma ray generation. Both automatic and manual development of film. Chemical mixing and set up both automatic and manual processing lines. Passed a fifty hour radiation safety course. Film interpretation to AWS D1.1, API 1104, and AMSE.
Ultrasonics: Basic calibration, thickness gauging, LAM scanning, and flaw detection on plates, groove joints, and T-joints with longitudinal and shear wave transducers on digital and analog instruments. Equipment qualification, dB accuracy, longitudinal and shear wave transducer qualification to AWS D1.1 for digital/analog instruments. WIll have immersion testing, IGSCC and ASME experience by graduation.
Magnetic Particle: Yokes, prods, and wet horizontal units. Both visible powders and fluorescent suspensions.
Visual Inspection: Direct and Indirect
Computer Skills: Excel, Access, Power Point Creation, Word Processig, Photo Editing Software, with some Fireworks and Dreamweaver experience.
On the job experience: I recently went on a 10 day coop with NISI working at a Progressive Energy Power Plant in Roxboro, NC. There I assisted MT, PT, UT, and a little with boresonics on disassembled and oxide blast-cleaned turbine generator components and parts.
