Bourn & Koch Gear Shaping Machines - July 25, 2007 Home About Us Shows & Events News Stock Machines Engineering Products Remanufacturing Replacement Parts Downloads Services Contact Give New Life To Your Old Fellows 36-6 Gear Shapers Double your productivity with Bourn & Koch's Remanufactured Fellows 36-6 Gear Shapers Bourn & Koch's remanufacture program for old Fellows 36-6 Gear Shapers gives new life and productivity to a large gear shaping machine whose original design dates back to the 1950's. Bourn & Koch's Fellows remanufacture team strips your old machine down to the castings and starts over again, eliminating change gears, the speed gear transmission mechanism, the feed gear set, and replaces them with servo drives controlled by CNC. Optionally, the worktable wormgear can (or needs) be recut, the worktable assembly and table relief system can be locked and replaced with Bourn & Koch's unique cutter relief system (patent pending) and a quick return stroke servo drive for the cutter stroking. The CNC allows programming the gear and cutter data and setting the feeds and speeds, allowing a change in cutting feeds and speeds on the second cut - something you could not do automatically on the old design. Some users have had their machines remanufactured with large, throated subrisers to allow a greater swing diameter for large, tall workpieces. In a current market where there is a scarcity of large used or rebuilt gear shapers, remanufacturing your old Fellows makes sense. Tell us the serial number of your Fellows 36-6, 36-8, 36Z-6, 36-12 or 48-8 and we'll send you a quotation. Request a quote from sales@star-su.com .
