Our gated amplifiers
·Provide the highest power tone burst amplifiers in the market today, often in excess of 5000 watts RMS over a broadband frequency range,
·Are capable of driving a variety of transducers such as piezoelectric, electromagnetic acoustic and air coupled
Sonic Sensors specializes in the design and manufacture of ultrasonic testing equipment
using ElectroMagnetic Acoustic Transducers, abbreviated EMAT. The EMAT is a
non-contact method of generating and receiving ultrasonic waves in metals. The EMAT is
non-contact because it communicates with the surface through electromagnetic forces.
Therefore, EMATs do not need couplant and work well on rough or coated surfaces.
The only requirement of the sample is it be conductive. High temperature evaluations are
readily performed with an EMAT. Sonic Sensors has a complete line of high temperature
