Our client is a world leader in aerospace components. They are currently seeking to hire in several NDT Technicians for their Northeastern location. NDT Technician will perform all required inspection operations to monitor, inspect, and evaluate manufacturing sequences involved in the production and/or development on composite components, assemblies, bonded hardware, and rotor blades. Requires the ability to work from engineering drawings, specifications, departmental procedures, and general or written instruction directives. Candidate must be able to perform first piece/first article verification through final inspection, including dimensional layout and testing to assure quality standards of composite airframe and blade structures, rework and repair operations. Position requires the ability to perform mechanical/destructive tests, thickness readings using ultrasonic gages and contour inspections using T020 gages. Duties include the performance of process audits in support of Cell Certification programs, and the ability to review work instructions, detailed Engineering directives, and prepare Inspection checklists. Experience in nondestructive (NDI) techniques such as Penetrant, Ultrasonic, and Fluoroscopy is required. Candidate must be capable of working in an in-process inspection environment with constant communication with support department personnel. Skills:
HS Graduate with minimum 2 years technical training in a related field. Position requires experience in using precision measuring equipment such as micrometers, venires and gages with complete understanding of English measure graduations (Understanding of Metric graduations desirable). Experience in composite/blade/bonding quality control environment is preferred. If candidate has inspection experience, but is lacking composite/blade background, or NDI experience, he/she may be considered for a Grade 05, blade/composite B inspector position.
