Great opportunity for career advancement. A large and growing automotive components manufacturer is searching for a key member for their quality team. We are searching for candidates to guide and lead the quality lab and perform quality engineering duties. This position will interpret prints to determine quality and reliability standards, selects products for a variety of characteristics. The quality engineer will set up and perform destructive and non-destructive tests on materials and components and prepares graphs or charts for analysis. Interested candidates will need solid documentation skills, keeping records of test data, applying statistical quality control procedures and evaluating data to validate or indicate deviations from existing standards. Candidates must be fully knowledgeable in APQP and TS-16949 quality management systems, as well as, experience conducting and preparing PPAP and 8-D corrective actions. The ideal individual will have direct experience working in a precision machining environment and the ability to all the various tools and equipment necessary to measure machined components.

The position will play a key role in new product launches and interact closely with employees at all levels. The quality engineer will work directly with the quality manager to assist and manage the quality lab.

MUST HAVE: a minimum of 5 years of experience working as a quality engineer or quality lab supervisor and/or quality manager in a production machining environment. Solid metrology and product testing skills are key to this position.
