Join the Quality Team at the PWR Canoga Park campus as a Inspector-Material Testing. This position Inspects ferrous and non-ferrous material surfaces for defects using test equipment. The primary responsibilities are listed as follows:
•Plan the methods and set up equipment and parts for exposed and/or hidden surfaces inspection that includes restricted and normally non-accessible areas of fracture critical parts.
•Prepare parts for penetrant inspection, using special equipment and inspection fixtures to permit processing of hidden surface areas where access to areas is restricted. Perform fluorescent and contrast dye penetrant inspection of hidden surface areas using inspection equipment for processing and inspecting parts.
•Inspect hidden surfaces of fracture critical parts using specially designed equipment such as flexible fiber optics bore scopes, rigid rod optics scopes and inspection fixtures.
•Determine acceptability of parts. Collaborate with engineering, laboratory or other personnel when penetrant indication results are questionable.
•Prepare and complete required inspection reports, including reports of non-performance conditions, manually or with the aid of a computer or computer based systems.
•Stamp or otherwise approve work as acceptable and in compliance with fracture control specifications or customer requirements, otherwise order rework or rejections.

Skills:
Experience/Qualifications: Hold or held Penetrant Level 2 certification and/or NDT certifications. Candidate must be able to work in a team environment as well as work independently with little supervision. Candidate must be an avid supporter of continuous improvement.

Education: A minimum of a high school diploma or
equivalent is required (GED). Pluses would be any certifications)

Candidates must pass a background check, drug screening, and physical exam, and meet the physical requirements of the position. The Inspector-Material Testing position is represented by the UAW, Local 887 and have a current bargaining agreement. No relocation assistance is available.
