Tool Design Engineer – cutting tools, Autocad, 3-D modeling, high volume machining)

A well known publicly traded USA corporation is expanding their North Carolina facility.

We are looking for a strong Tool Design Engineer to support their tool making operation. We are looking for candidates with 7 plus years of designing cutting tools, tool holders and production fixtures. Knowledge of designing special inserts, form tools, reams, boring bars, drills, recess tools, chamfers and other special cutting tools is a must. The Tool Engineer will work from a 3-D model of a new design to develop the entire tooling package required to machine the components. The 3-D design will be used to generate code downloaded to the CNC grinders or EDM. Past experience using Autocad and a 3-D system like Pro-E or Solidworks is also a must.

Candidates with a 4 year degree is preferred but not required. Experience developing tooling for high volumn machining applications is strongly preferred. Our client is looking for experience tooling up high production CNC machining centers, turning centers, rotary transfer, line transfer, multiple spindled CNC lathes and screw machines.
