Scope:
This description establishes the duties required to effectively perform the duties of the Special Process Non-Destructive Test Operator. This is a guideline, and not an all-encompassing description.

Purpose:
The purpose of this description is to define the reporting, authority, duties, activities, organizational, and external relationships of the Special Process Non-Destructive Test Operator

Reporting To:
Special Process Supervisor

Position Summary:
Responsible for Fluorescent Penetrant and Magnetic Particle inspection of precision machined components.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Must have met all requirements of a Level 2 operator per WI-5008.
2. Must meet all vision requirements of WI-5008.
3 Inspects machined parts for cracks, cold shuts, inclusions, shrinkage, lap seams, and other flaws using Fluorescent Penetrant and Magnetic Particle inspection methods.
4. Works with outside Level 3 consultant and Manufacturing Engineers to determine correct inspection method on new product.
5. Responsible for daily maintenance of NDT equipment.
6. Responsible for creating and updating set-up sheets.
7. Must meet yield and Quality Objectives.

Additional Duties, Responsibilities, and Activities:
1. Assists other departments as needed.
2. Other duties as may be necessary to fulfill the responsibilities of this position;
Skills:
High school diploma preferred. Six months to one year of experience preferred in manufacturing and blueprint reading. Must be certified Level 2 or higher Inspector by completing requirements of WI-5008, or Certified Level 2 externally.
