Manufacturing Engineering Manager – six sigma, precision machining, lean, estimating, project management

Great opportunity with a growing division of a large corporation looking for a leader to manage their Engineering team.

This division produces highly engineered precision machined and assembled components. We are looking for a high energy Engineering Manager with a four year technical degree and five plus years of managing engineering.

Knowledge of machining, CNC machining, GT&D and metrology is a must. The ideal candidate will need strong problem solving skills, experience with Six Sigma tools, DOE using more of the perado approach. Past experience using a variable cost system, reviewing the cost of tooling, materials, quality and labor to ensure profit margins is strongly preferred. Interested candidates will need solid project management skills. The Manufacturing Engineering Manager will guide, lead and oversee new product launches and major continuous improvement projects. Experience developing metrics to measure performance and use of data to drive improvements is a must. Strong leadership skills and demonstrated skills driving change and improvements is a must. The position requires experience in metal removal processes, cutting tools, feeds and speeds in a close tolerance low and high volume machining operation. The Manufacturing Engineering Manager will play a key role in the executive management team.

Our client is focused on growing this division, having sales to double in size. This will open up opportunities for career advancement into Operations Management or Division Management. Goal orientated candidates with strong communications skills, drive, energy and ability to “go to the tool box” solving problems should submit their resumes. Past experience using APQP mythology is strongly preferred.

MUST HAVE: a 4 year technical degree and minimum of 5 years of manufacturing engineering management in a precision machining environment. Knowledge of Six Sigma tools and lean manufacturing is also a must. Experience estimating and costing is a huge plus.
