Plant Superintendent – automotive, high volume machining, cnc, planning, scheduling

Tier one and two supplier of precision machined engine and steering components is searching for a Plant Superintendent to manage their team. This is a larger non-union facility in a modern plant with high speed machining equipment. This position is responsible for planning production, schedule, review / prioritizing production, ensures material / tooling arrive on-time, employee motivation, production reports, machine up time, efficiencies, quality, machine tool problem solving and on-time delivery. Production, maintenance, inspection, part finishing and shipping report to this position. Knowledge of high volume machining and cutting tools is a must. The ideal candidate will have hands on machining experience with some of the following processes: cnc turning, cnc machining centers, flexible machining systems, dial transfer , rotary transfer, in line transfer machines, broaching, chuckers and /or multi spindle screw machines. Candidates will need a basic understanding of machining and the ability to troubleshoot processes, keeping machines up and running. Past experience troubleshooting tooling and mechanical issues is strongly preferred. This position requires supervising 50 plus employees. Strong leadership and follow up skills are a must to ensure delivery. The main focus of the position is to ensure good quality parts are shipped on-time and providing customer satisfaction.

Our client is a long time manufacturer with a newer facility and highly technical skilled workforce. This corporation employs over 200 and has many employees with 15-20 years with the company. They’ve invested in several new machine tools in the past couple of years.

MUST HAVE: a minimum of supervising machining and operations in a high volume environment. Strong planning, scheduling and communication skills are also required. Interested candidates also need the ability to help troubleshoot equipment and find solutions. Past experience managing at least 50 employees is preferred.
